Hello My name is Wendy Jessen. I am the owner of firefly dahlias. My farm is called firefly acres.
The farm is located 2 hours north of Minneapolis Mn near Onamia . It’s 2.25 acres that I plant on around 1.5 acres. Most of my crop consists of dahlias but I also grow cut flowers .
Firefly dahlias has been in business for 4 years. I sell cut flowers in the summer months at the Isle farmers market and local floral shops. I have always wanted to do something that makes me happy and growing dahlias does just that. There is no feeling in the world better than having people showing me photos of the blooms they were able to grow with the tubers they bought from me.
As of 2025 I attended the University of Minnesota master gardeners program, became a dahlia judge with the Minnesota dahlia society and am an active member of our local garden club. I enjoy showing dahlias and flowers. I entered 7 entries to the Mille lacs county fair and received 7 out of 7 blue ribbons and
